Event Series (See All)

May 22 – August 2!
The Montminy Gallery’s newest exhibit “Echoes of Missouri”
This summer, The Montminy Gallery proudly presents Echoes of Missouri: The African American Journey through Art, History, Music, and Culture, a powerful, multi-disciplinary exhibition running from May 22 through August 2, 2025. This collaborative showcase features local talent and Kansas City area artists coming together to honor and celebrate Missouri’s African American legacy through visual art, music, poetry, and history.
With a focus on cultural expression and historical depth, the exhibition illuminates the enduring impact of Black artists, musicians, poets, and change-makers.
Through thought-provoking artwork, historical artifacts, and immersive storytelling, visitors will be invited to explore the powerful intersections of race, identity, and music that have shaped Missouri’s cultural fabric.
As a cornerstone of the exhibition, Echoes of Missouri will feature a vibrant lineup of public programming, including:
• Live musical and spoken word performances
• A community panel discussion with artists and scholars
• A family celebration day with hands-on activities and live entertainment

Join us at The Montminy Gallery to experience Echoes of Missouri—an exhibition that honors the voices of the past, celebrates the visionaries of today, and inspires the future of our shared cultural journey.
