Join Missouri Humanities and the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre on Saturday, June 21, from 9 AM to 1 PM for a free writing workshop for veterans, active and retired military personnel, and military-connected family members.
Open to new, experienced, and curious writers alike, this workshop explores ekphrasis, the practice of writing in response to creative works like paintings and sculptures. Participants will draw inspiration from the Centre’s exhibits and engage in guided writing exercises.
Led by facilitators and MFA graduates Kent Walker, a combat Army Veteran, and Stacey Walker, who teaches at three local colleges, this workshop offers space to spark creativity, refine your craft, and help you explore new ways to express your voice as a writer.
Space is limited! Sign up to secure your spot: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/vraa6tk
Light refreshments provided.
Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of “Proud To Be: Writing by American Warriors,” an anthology of fiction, poems, and essays by and about those who served.
