PRIZE DISCLAIMER: The prize of the physical quilt awarded to the winner will be an original, handcrafted piece (throw blanket sized) inspired by the digital quilt and not an exact replica. Design elements, colors, and layout may vary based on materials and quilting techniques. The quilt will be delivered to the winner upon completion by the quilter; delivery timing will depend on the quilter’s schedule and will be communicated to the winner after the campaign concludes. Missouri Humanities is not responsible for delays outside its control.
ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER: Virtual quilt pieces may be purchased only by legal residents of the United States eighteen (18) years of age or older. Purchase by anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted, regardless of location or method of purchase. This raffle fundraiser is void in states wherever prohibited by law.
While Missouri Humanities gratefully welcomes purely charitable donations from supporters nationwide, individuals purchasing virtual quilt pieces from states where online raffles are prohibited (including, but not limited to, Alabama, California, Hawaii, Utah, and Washington) are legally ineligible to enter the drawing to win the physical quilt. Any such purchases will be processed solely as a non-refundable charitable donation. Missouri Humanities reserves the right to verify the residency of the winner before awarding the prize.
By purchasing a virtual quilt piece, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements above. This raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. All decisions of Missouri Humanities regarding this raffle shall be final and binding on all participants.
ENTRY: This campaign features a thematic “virtual quilt.” When you purchase a virtual quilt piece, you are buying a digital-only graphic acknowledgment that helps “build” our online community quilt. You are not purchasing a physical portion of a quilt, nor are you pre-purchasing the final physical prize. Instead, the purchase of each virtual quilt piece acts exactly as one (1) raffle entry (ticket) for a chance to win the one-of-a-kind, handcrafted physical throw quilt.
DRAWING: The winner of the prize will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received. The winner will be notified via the contact information provided at the time of entry. To claim the prize, the winner must respond and confirm eligibility within five (5) business days from the date the initial notification is sent. If the winner fails to claim the prize within this designated time frame or is found to be ineligible, Missouri Humanities will reclaim the prize and randomly draw an alternate winner from the remaining eligible entries. This process will repeat until the prize is successfully awarded and claimed.
The purchase of one virtual quilt piece, regardless of the virtual quilt piece’s purchase level, counts as one raffle entry. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
IMPORTANT TAX DISCLAIMER: The purchase of a virtual quilt piece constitutes entry into a prize drawing and does not qualify as a tax-deductible charitable contribution under IRS regulations. Because participants receive consideration for a chance to win a physical quilt inspired by the digital quilt in exchange for their payment, this transaction is treated as a purchase, not a donation. If you would like to make a fully tax-deductible contribution to Missouri Humanities, please visit https://mohumanities.org/donate/.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Participants, by participating in the raffle, agree that Missouri Humanities and our affiliated partners, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, managers, members, contractors, volunteers, licensees, consultants and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by this raffle’s participants against, any liability for injuries, losses, cost, expenses or damages of any kind, including damages for death, personal injury, property damage or property loss, or other harm arising from or in connection with, whether in whole or in part or directly or indirectly, this raffle or the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any entry or prize, the Rules and their application thereof, all means of this raffle entry sales, this raffle process, and/or this raffle winner selection.
PUBLICITY RELEASE: The official winner, by accepting his/her prize, grants Missouri Humanities full permission to use that official winner’s name, photograph, voice and/or other likeness and prize information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation and without notice, review or approval, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, and on the internet and world wide web, in perpetuity.
