About the Program:
Join us for our final program of the year — A Night in Vienna: An Exploration of Jewish Music featuring acclaimed pianist Catherine Kautsky.
The child of two Holocaust survivors, Kautsky will take audiences on a moving musical journey through Vienna — from the city’s golden age of culture to the dark years of persecution. The performance will highlight the music that made Vienna world-renowned, before shifting to the hauntingly beautiful compositions of Jewish composers exiled or silenced during the Holocaust.
Blending live performance, evocative imagery, and deeply personal storytelling, Kautsky shares her family’s journey from Vienna after the 1938 Anschluss to their new home in St. Louis. This unforgettable evening will illuminate the enduring power of music, memory, and resilience.
