This academy provides high school teachers of American History and Government throughout the state with a chance to develop new insights into their subject fields by offering a series of seminars that focus on key ideas, figures, and events in history of American democracy.

Each year, we focus on a different theme. Previous themes concentrated on (1) majority rule and minority rights, (2) the origins and legacy of the Bill of Rights, (3) Missouri’s struggle for statehood, and (4) revolutions. This year’s theme is “Religious Liberty and the Wall of Separation Between Church and State.”
