Marketing and Social Media Engagement

Mandi Retter will detail how small communities and organizations can maximize their social media engagement and current social media best practices.

How can social media and other marketing tactics best engage both your members of your community and visitors to your community? How do you choose the best marketing strategies for your organization’s needs? Bring your questions as we explore these topics and more.

Interregional Cooperation & Creating Critical Mass

This presentation demonstrated the importance of interregional cooperation, showing spatial data including: maps showing commuting patters, workforce and job location, lodging availability, distances from major metros. We will discuss “critical mass” by pairing our attractions with other communities, designing advertising that “packages” regional assets for visitors, and looking at some examples of communities that have done this successfully.

Creating & Sustaining an Effective Volunteer Program

This program looked at the many aspects of managing in-house volunteers and eVolunteers. The Missouri State Archives has benefited from volunteers since the 1970’s and began our eVolunteer program in 1999. Join two State Archives staffers as they discuss the various aspects of recruiting and retaining volunteers, along with project management and lessons learned.
