WBIT is a family-friendly, LIVING history festival where visitors can walk from camp to camp and experience life during the Civil War, Wild West, 1770s colonists, WWII and more.
Friday through Sunday, living historians greet visitors on the grounds of our museum while portraying centuries of American History. Guests can visit the main stage to listen to presentations like the Struggles of Suffragettes, or Generals Grant and Sherman discuss Vicksburg, or listen to the music of Dusty James and Abalone Pearl, Liberty Jazz Band, dulcimers or other period music. They can eat at a variety of food vendors, shop for period items, watch an 1860s base ball game and view WWI planes. Battle reenactments take place Saturday, also a battalion revue with Missouri Military academy. Reenactors are camped on the grounds of our museum in a living history portraying centuries of American History. Camps include: Vikings in America, Medieval Swordsmen, Pirates, American Colonists, Mountain Men, Pony Express, Civil War, Native American Culture, Wild West, World War I, Titanic, Suffragettes, World War II, USMC Vietnam, Korean War & much more to see.
