Show Me State Air Show

Bring the whole family and enjoy a day of aerial demonstrations and aircraft static displays! The theme for this year’s air show is the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, recognizing World War II veterans with special features designed specifically in their honor.

We are excited to announce the appearance of “That’s All, Brother,” the C-47 that led the main airborne invasion of Normandy, dropping more than 13,000 paratroopers into the battle. In honor of Allied Airborne Forces past, present and future, 12 round-canopy paratroopers outfitted in World War II gear from the Round Canopy Parachuting Team will be jumping from the plane.

In a rare appearance, the Show Me State Air Show will feature tactical demonstrations by the Commerative Air Force’s Helldiver (SSB2C), the only airplane of its kind still flying, and one of only five still in existence. This aircraft first flew into combat in the South Pacific campaign for Rabaul in November 1943, and the Helldiver was responsible for more ship tonnage sunk during World War II than any other aircraft.

In addition, there will be other aerial performers and static aircraft displays for visitors to explore. The show will feature a kids’ area with a bounce house and obstacle course, STEM booths, food and merchandise vendors, vintage military vehicles and a classic car show. Attendees are encouraged to BRING LAWN CHAIRS OR BLANKETS. Limited shaded seating is available for veterans at the Veterans’ Tent.

Admission is $5 at the gate; children younger than age 5 are free. Free admission is offered to Military personnel and veterans, with required proof of service.

Gates open at 9 a.m., with the show running until 2 p.m. both days.
