Science and Suffrage: the Family of Eunice Newton Foote

We’re excited to launch a video series as part of our commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage.

This series of one minute spots highlights the lives of three generations of women of the family of Eunice Newton Foote, a pioneer scientist and women’s rights advocate who lived from 1819 to 1888. The 18 episodes in the series encapsulate events in a vast panorama of American history, told from the vantage of Eunice and daughter Mary Foote, and the men they married and raised.

Join us once a day starting on August 9 as we count down the days until August 26th, the 100th anniversary of universal women’s suffrage in America.

These short videos will be posted daily here in the event page, so be sure to tune in!
