Missouri Humanities is excited to welcome the Chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities, Shelly Lowe.
Lowe will give a Keynote Address to discuss the importance of the humanities to society and highlight how our “Roots & Routes” shape our individual experiences and our state and national stories.

Lowe is a citizen of the Navajo Nation and grew up on the Navajo Reservation in Ganado, Arizona. From 2015 to 2022, she served as a member of the National Council on the Humanities, the 26-member advisory body to NEH. Lowe was appointed Chair of the NEH on October 5, 2021.
