45 minute Powerpoint presentation / talk, with Q&A. Rachael Cozad is the former Director of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and also currently an art appraiser and art dealer. She is leading the update of the “Catalogue Raisonne” (or, the definitive reference) for the paintings of George Caleb Bingham. Bingham is Missouri’s most famous 19th Century artist and an American Master. The presentation will discuss Bingham the man, the artist, the politician, and also the project of documenting all of his paintings for scholarly reference. The Bingham Catalogue Raisonne is a free public resource supported in part by The Riverbank Foundation, a 501C3 nonprofit corporation.
