This month’s GKCBHSG Black History Month Program features Buffalo Soldier Historian, Mr. Jay M. Collins. Collins, a resident of California, is President of the Buffalo Soldier Mounted Calvary Unit (BSMCU) founded in 2014. The primary mission and vision of the BSMCU is to teach the historical contributions of the Black soldiers who helped build America and settle the Western frontier thus preserving their legacy and highlighting their struggles. Mr. Collins shared that his presentation will cover Military, Native, Western, and Buffalo Soldier history, all of which are American History and a true living history experience for all ages.
