Join in the fun for the 27th Annual French Heritage Festival to celebrate the unique traditions, architecture and music of Ste. Genevieve’s French and Creole heritage in Missouri and the Mississippi River Valley. The Opening Ceremony at 10:30 am on Saturday June 8 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve kicks off the events following the honorary king and queen of Ste. Genevieve in a promenade through the streets. Live Creole music in Lions Club Park and activities at each of the historic tour homes, National Park sites and museums.
Explore the beauty of Ste. Genevieve’s historic homes, gardens, and art centers. Sample delicious food and styles of music in the National Historic Landmark District. Enjoy story-telling, dancing, street performers, re-enactors, skill demonstrations and immerse yourself in the music, food, shopping and history of Missouri’s oldest town. Stay overnight for more live music and a street-side artisans faire on North Main Street Saturday night and join the guided Audubon’s Nature Walk at the levee wildlife refuge early Sunday morning.
Other than some of the historic sites’ admission fees, the activities throughout the Ste. Genevieve French Heritage Festival are free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve and the City of Ste. Genevieve. Come on down and laizzes le bon temp rouler (let the good times roll).
