An American Hero’s Birth Place: Geophysical and Archaeological Study of George Washington Carver National Monument (Part of “Digging Deeper: Examining Black History in Missouri through Archaeology” Series)

Join us for the first installment of our seires “Digging Deeper: Examining Missouri’s Black History through Archaeology.” Up first, Historic Archaeologist Lewis Jones and Geoarchaeologist Dr. Ervan Garrison take us through the studies done at the George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO. Carver is celebrated as the most prominent black scientist of the 20th century, and his contributions to agricultural science are unparalleled. Jones and Garrison will discuss Carver’s work and what these studies have told us about Carver’s life.
